Our Beginnings

Diamond Rail was founded in 1976 as a small, family-owned business specialising in domestic upholstery services. Driven by a passion for new challenges, we soon expanded into commercial projects, often through recommendations from our satisfied domestic customers. Our journey into the rail industry began with a contract for Wabtec Rail, a prominent company based near our home in Doncaster.

Building on the success of this partnership, we quickly gained recognition and began receiving requests from other delivery partners, Train Operating Companies (TOCs), and Rolling Stock Companies (ROSCOs). Diamond became the trusted supplier of choice for all rail seating needs.

2008

In 2008, our dedication to quality and our enduring family values inspired our transformation into Diamond Specialist Seating, a name that symbolised the strength and excellence we brought to the market. Over the past two decades, we have proudly collaborated with numerous suppliers and customers, consistently delivering on our promises.

We’ve grown to be large enough to deliver comprehensive solutions while remaining small enough to genuinely care.

2021

In February 2021, we evolved once more, becoming Diamond Rail Services.

This rebranding reflected our expanded range of complementary services, developed and refined to meet the diverse needs of the rail industry. Many of our customers have embraced the benefits of entrusting us with turnkey projects, recognising the efficiency and value we bring.

2026

In 2026, we rebranded again with our sister companies CTL Seal, TFL Responsive Engineering and Daedalus Design Services to become the ‘Diamond Group’; bringing our complimentary turnkey services together under one roof, streamlining communication for group projects and further increasing the pool of talent, knowledge and expertise available to all.

With this rebrand we have built a group that is large enough and experienced enough to provide a true turnkey solution for any project, whilst maintaining the levels of customer service that our partners have come to expect from Diamond Rail Services.
